Walter & Larissa started their dance partnership in January 2021, bringing years of experience and a joyful Zouk style to students all over the world.

Larissa

Larissa earned a bachelor degree in physical education from Federal University of Santa Catarina after dedicating 16 years to training in Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary classical dances.

In 2014 Larissa started training in Brazilian ballroom dancing and since then has been dedicating herself to dancing and teaching Brazilian Zouk.

Whilst living in Florianopolis she taught Brazilian ballroom dance classes to other university students as an extension of her studies as UFSC.

Larissa developed and coordinated research in dance pedagogy and student psychology, the results of which she used to optimise student learning and experience of Brazilian Zouk.

She currently travels nationally and internationally, running workshops and performing in partnership with Walter Fernandes.

Walter

Walter received his dance education from the Jaime Aroxa Dance School. He started his dance studies at the age of 15 through the social project “Well from the head to the feet” which was directed by Escola De Danca Jaime Aroxa in Rio de Janeiro.

In 2012 he joined Cia Dom, a Samba de Gafieira dance group directed by Patrick Carvalho and in 2015 won the Gafieira Brazil group category.

He dedicated himself to both Samba de Gafieira and Brazilian Zouk becoming a leading world class professional artist in both dance styles.

Walter had the opportunity to teach both Samba de Gafieira and Brazilian Zouk on an 8 months tour around Russia, Israel, Serbia, Finland and Belarus. This was the first of many tours that would take him around the world teaching both dance styles in more than 16 countries.

Walter is also a founding member of the Brazilian Zouk community in Israel known as Zouko and was the first artist to introduce this dance style to Israel.

Currently Walter is traveling the world teaching, performing and participating in competitions.
